SEED Sedgemoor held a forum on Covid-19 related loneliness and isolation in communities to help them develop a creative project to help to address this growing area of concern.
They have compiled a report which documents the sessions and sets out their next steps to help isolated and lonely people in our community.
They are planning to develop two parallel initiatives. The first will be a series of weekly zoom clubs facilitated by local artists and social arts facilitators and they are currently seeking expressions of interest from potential facilitators. The form can be downloaded here.
The second initiative will be something that does not require the use of online technology, in order to reach those whose experience of loneliness and social isolation under Covid19 is exacerbated by being on the wrong side of the digital divide. They believe this should be developed in consultation with the potential participants. To that end, they have developed a short survey and encourage you to take the survey and share with friends, family and contacts and offer help to complete the survey at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/SEEDCommunityFeedback2021
